Raymond Moench, an apprentice to John Walsted, has been an advertising commercial artist, a furniture painter, a mural and stature painter and designer, and a drawing teacher at the Snug Harbor Art Lab, the Todt Hill Community Center, and the College of Staten Island. He has been a member of the Staten Island Federation of Artists and Craftsmen, and his work has won awards from the College of Staten Island Options Program, The Staten Island Museum Section of Art, and the Conference house Association Art Show.   View some of Raymond Moench's icons

Edwin Havas is Professor of Art Emeritus at Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ. He taught art there and at Seton Hall Preparatory School for thirty-six years. He is a member of the American Watercolor Society.  His paintings are included in the permanent collections of the Montclair Art Museum, Montclair, NJ, and the New Jersey Historical Society, Newark, NJ. His work was represented in the "More Than Meets The Eye: a Century of Realism in New Jersey, 1900-1994" at the Morris Museum, Morristown, NJ. Recently the Banana Factory hosted a one man show for Mr. Havas’ work entitled "Odyssey: Travels in Realism".

Paula M. Zelienka is the Art Instructor at Saint John Neumann Regional School Slatington/Palmerton. She studied with local artists Mary Kocher and Jean Bechdolt.  She attended Northampton Community College receiving the Patrick J. Kraus award for drawing.  She studied watercolor with Liza Buck Goldstien, Bette Elliot and Donna Hensinger.  Her most popular piece of work can be seen in downtown Palmerton, "Patches" the mule.  Paula specializes in watercolor portraits.

Tina Madonia has been painting for more then 25 years. Her works can be found in private collections such as Lockhaven University, Lockhaven, PA and Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA. She has been accepted in numerous National Exhibits and has won many awards in both oils and mono-prints. Tina resides in Slatington.

Jeanne Stemler is one of Palmerton’s local artists.  She is a colorist who works with a group in Palmerton called the Basement Painters. 

James J. Ward was born in Coaldale, raised in Tamaqua and attended Catholic schools and St. Charles Seminary. He was ordained in 1973. He has always appreciated art.  He has been painting the last few years and sometimes gets lucky with his work. He is a member of the Lois Daday School of Art.

Elizabeth Knesevitch has studied most recently with Skip Lawrence and Frank Webb.  She painted with Robert Wade during a trip to Italy and France.  Elizabeth has been living in Lehighton for 44 years and has been painting since she retired from nursing.

Janet A. Kovalchick received her degree in studio art from Moravian College and studied watercolor with Lee Everett at the Baum school. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, the Bethlehem Palette club and the Lehigh Valley Arts Council. Janet works in a variety of media, but prefers watercolor. She resides in Macungie with her husband, Andrew.

Lois Daday began studying with Dr. Walter Baum and has continued in recent years with Lee Everett and Judith Krieger. In her paintings she tries to capture the light and shadow of nature in the scenes she has visited. She works with a variety of media including watercolors and acrylics.

William Wesley Wentz former steel executive turned artist, was born and raised in the foothills of the Poconos in Palmerton, PA. An avid outdoorsman and conservationist, he chooses his subjects from the fields, streams and woodlands of his native state of Pennsylvania. His love of color is reflected in his floral still lifes.  He is a popular teacher who has conducted workshops throughout Pennsylvania . He now teaches at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA and his home studio. Wentz and his wife Beatrice returned to the Palmerton area in late 1990. They now reside in Lower Towamensing Township where he maintains a studio and gallery.
